RECRUITMENT 2022

FOR OUR PNMS, ACCESS OUR QUESTIONS GUIDE AS YOU GO THROUGH RECRUITMENT!

WHAT IS RECRUITMENT?

Panhellenic Recruitment is a mutual selection process where a potential member has the opportunity to meet with chapter members, ask a variety of questions, and learn about the 12 wonderful Panhellenic chapters on UCF’s campus.

Recruitment is a fun-filled week of activities in which sororities educate potential new members on their respective organization and share their sisterhood with potential members. These days allow you to catch a glimpse into the personalities and values of each of the 12 chapters. Each sorority has something unique to offer, and with 12 chapters, you should be able to find a group of women with whom you identify.

DAY BY DAY BREAKDOWN:

UCF Day 1 & 2
The first round of primary recruitment where potential new members will have the opportunity to meet each chapter. This takes place in the first two days, with six of the twelve the first day and the other six the second day of UCF and Day 1 &2.

Philanthropy Day
Potential new members will get invited back to a maximum of 9 chapters where they will get the chance to learn about those chapters' philanthropies. Potential new members will also be shown chapter dues during this round so that they know how much each sorority costs.

Sisterhood Day
Potential new members get invited back to a maximum of 6 chapters to watch chapter's Recruitment Videos during this round that showcase each chapter.

Preference Night
This is the most significant round. Potential new members can be invited back to a maximum of 2 chapters for this round where they will have heart-to-heart conversations about what the chapters mean to them.

Bid Day
Bid Day is the day potential new members will find out which chapters offered them a bid.

What you should bring:

You will be able to bring a purse or backpack with you during the week that you will leave under the tents when inside with chapters. We recommend not bringing an expensive bag since you are unable to bring it inside parties with you, instead you will be leaving it under tents outside of the chapters. Some useful and important items to keep handy are...

  • Re-useable water bottle

  • Mini make-up bag

  • Extra pair of comfortable shoes for walking around

  • Pen and small notebook

  • Sunscreen

  • Portable charger

EARLY MOVE-IN

Please contact UCF Housing at https://www.housing.ucf.edu/contact/ for information about early move in.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

A potential new member recommendation form, or "rec", is a letter or written statement introducing you to a sorority. Recs are sent by an alumna to her sorority’s chapter. Recs are not a guarantee that you will receive a bid from that chapter. Panhellenic does not have recommendation forms available and cannot obtain them for potential new members. Alumnae may find a rec form in the sorority magazine, sorority Web site or from the headquarters of each sorority. Recs are not mandatory and are just another way for a sorority to get to know you. If you have a rec letter or plan on sending one please mail them to the mailing address of that chapter, NOT to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

We wish you the best of luck as you move closer to finding your letters at UCF. Remember, the choice is yours and this is only the beginning of an amazing journey that will have a lasting impact on your life past your college career. We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you into the Panhellenic community!
