Recruitment Information:

Recruitment is a fun-filled week of activities in which sororities educate potential new members on their respective organization and share their sisterhood with potential members. These days allow you to catch a glimpse into the personalities and values of each of the 12 chapters. Just as sororities are looking for the right women to join their chapters, you should be looking for a chapter that fits your needs. Each sorority has something unique to offer, and with 12 chapters, you should be able to find a group of women with whom you identify.

On the first day of Recruitment, August 11th, you will check-in at Panhellenic Recruitment Orientation and be provided with a general overview of what recruitment will be like at UCF.

On the second and third day, you will visit all twelve (12) chapters so you can get a glimpse of what each sorority is like.

On Tuesday, you will visit up to eight (8) chapters and learn about their specific Philanthropy and what it means to each chapter.

Wednesday, you will visit a maximum of six (6) chapters to see a video created by the chapter to show off their sisterhood.

Thursday, you will visit a maximum of two (2) chapters. This is a sentimental day, as it will be the final day for chapters and potential new members to select one another.

Friday is Bid Day where invitations are extended by chapters to join their sisterhood.

Recruitment Eligibility:

In order to be eligible for UCF Recruitment a PNM must:

1. Be enrolled at the University of Central Florida as a full time student (12 credit hours).

2. For women going through Recruitment straight out of high school and HAVE NOT taken any college courses, their high school GPA will be considered by the sororities. You must have a minimum high school GPA of a 2.5.

3. If a woman has taken a Summer A, B, or C course, has been through at least a semester of college, or was dual-enrolled in high school, her college GPA will be considered. You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 if you have taken any college credits.

4. Have not been initiated into any other Panhellenic sorority.

A potential new member (PNM) recommendation form, or "rec", is a letter or written statement introducing you to a sorority. Recs are sent by an alumna to her sorority’s chapter. Recs are not a guarantee that you will receive a bid from that chapter. Panhellenic does not have recommendation forms available and cannot obtain them for PNMs. Alumnae may find a rec form in the sorority magazine, sorority Web site or from the headquarters of each sorority. Recs are not mandatory and are just another way for a sorority to get to know you. If you have a rec letter or plan on sending one please mail them to the mailing address of that chapter NOT Fraternity and Sorority Life.

We wish you the best of luck as you move closer to finding your letters at UCF. Remember, the choice is yours and this is only the beginning of an amazing journey that will have a lasting impact on your life past your college career. We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you into the Panhellenic community!
