A Letter from the Executive Board

Panhellenic’s number one priority is the safety of our community, chapter members, and your safety as potential new members. In the interest of the health of our Orlando, UCF communities, and in accordance with our Recruitment Plan, we have deemed it necessary to pivot our plans from an in-person recruitment to a fully virtual recruitment.
Recruitment should be carried out in the safest way possible for our chapter women and Potential New Members. With the increase in positive cases for the Delta variant of COVID-19, we have a duty to keep each other safe and moving to a virtual platform ensures our safety.
The Panhellenic Executive Board along with Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisors have been working simultaneously on a virtual contingency plan, as recommended by the National Panhellenic Conference, so we would be prepared in the event that this transition needed to occur. While we know making this transition to virtual recruitment can be a challenge, we are confident our community will rise to this challenge and have a safer and successful Panhellenic Recruitment.
We are so excited to welcome you all into our community, and we cannot wait for your introduction to life as a Panhellenic woman. More information regarding the logistics of each round is forthcoming and will be provided to you soon.

What is Recruitment?

Panhellenic Recruitment is a mutual selection process where a potential member has the opportunity to meet with chapter members, ask a variety of questions, and learn about the 12 wonderful Panhellenic chapters on UCF’s campus.

Recruitment is a fun-filled week of activities in which sororities educate potential new members on their respective organization and share their sisterhood with potential members. These days allow you to catch a glimpse into the personalities and values of each of the 12 chapters. Each sorority has something unique to offer, and with 12 chapters, you should be able to find a group of women with whom you identify.

Safety precautions

An updated safety and precautions plan has been voted on by all twelve Panhellenic chapters. A mask requirement has been mandated, and applies to all UCF Panhellenic Executive Board, Recruitment Team, Rho Gammas and chapter members from August 10th through August 21st. It applies to Potential New Members from August 18th to August 21st. Masks should be properly worn covering the nose, mouth, and chin. Masks should be worn at all times inside the chapter houses and in all UCF buildings on campus.Masks should be worn at all times outside on campus for PNMs. The only time masks should be removed would be in the case of eating, drinking, or a case of overheating/medical emergency. If a PNM refuses to wear a mask, accommodations will be made for them in terms of going through recruitment. Those who need accommodations will be able to attend Pan Knight Line Up and participate in Continuous Open Bidding in accordance with NPC.

Letters of Recommendation

A potential new member recommendation form, or "rec", is a letter or written statement introducing you to a sorority. Recs are sent by an alumna to her sorority’s chapter. Recs are not a guarantee that you will receive a bid from that chapter. Panhellenic does not have recommendation forms available and cannot obtain them for potential new members. Alumnae may find a rec form in the sorority magazine, sorority Web site or from the headquarters of each sorority. Recs are not mandatory and are just another way for a sorority to get to know you. If you have a rec letter or plan on sending one please mail them to the mailing address of that chapter, NOT to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

We wish you the best of luck as you move closer to finding your letters at UCF. Remember, the choice is yours and this is only the beginning of an amazing journey that will have a lasting impact on your life past your college career. We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you into the Panhellenic community!
